I’m thrilled to announce that A Texas Ranger’s Family has received American Christian Fiction Writer’s 2010 BOOK OF THE YEAR award for the short contemporary category! The award is now known as The Carol to honor former Bethany House Publishing editor Carol Johnson. Carol’s acquisition and support of author Janette Oke blazed a trail for unprecedented growth in Christian fiction. Needless to say, I’m extremely honored to be a recipient of this award. Thank you ACFW!

A Texas Ranger’s Family was released in September of 2009 as the first in my three-part series about siblings swallowed up by the foster care network after violence rips their family apart. Book one reunited Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist Erin Gray with her Texas Ranger husband, Daniel Stabler and their purple haired daughter, Dana. When the worlds of two driven professionals, one Goth teen, and one busybody mother-in-law collided, hardened hearts dissolved in tears of laughter and long-denied love.

In April 2010 Her Forever Family was released. The members of West Texas Rescue don’t refer to Doctor Alison Stone as “The Rock” for nothing. As a volunteer, she is the anchor of their helicopter long line team. As a psychotherapist, she stands in the gap for abused and abandoned kids. Dallas Cowboys legend Benjamin Lamar has overcome the tragic loss of his wife and dedicates his life to parenting his autistic son, Ethan. But Ben wonders why God has given him a dream of public service that may only come at the expense of his child. When Ali rescues Ethan from Big Bend National Park it starts a chain reaction that nobody in the Lone Star State could have predicted.

In November 2010 the series will conclude with A Season for Family. Officer Heath Stone is assigned to work undercover at Table of Hope, a homeless shelter in a Waco, Texas. He pretends to be working off a public service sentence while he investigates Olivia Wyatt whose father is wanted by the FBI for tax evasion. It’s up to Heath to determine whether or not Olivia’s father is behind the illegal drugs that appear to be trafficking through her shelter. Heath’s presence at Table of Hope may propel Olivia into the public spotlight, but not in a good way. You won’t want to miss the conclusion of this gripping three-part series.

I’m also excited to tell you that my very first book (Hearts in Bloom, 2004) is being re-released as part of Love Inspired’s new line of heartwarming romances. The story has been edited to appeal to readers seeking a wholesome read though not necessarily one with a strong faith message. With a new title and cover, Her Love Next Door will be released via direct marketing in April 2011 and in retail stores in June 2011. I’m very excited about this opportunity to reach a new group of readers!

Also in 2011, I hope to introduce you to the Temple Brothers in my four part Deep in the Heart series. More as details become available.
